Extended learning week has gone really well, with the various trips and activities providing students with great opportunities to enjoy new experiences, cultures (if abroad) and working together. It is also an ideal opportunity for staff to get to know students outside the classroom environment, and to spend time with other staff who they not normally meet in their day to do work. As usual, any feedback that you may have on e -week would be most welcome so that we can evaluate and plan for 2024. Thank you to all the leaders of the trips and well done everyone.
Arts week begins on Monday, with various activities in school. On Tuesday evening, we have the Summer Music Concert and on Wednesday evening, it is the turn of Dance, with the Summer Dance Show. Both should not be missed. Next week is also busy with three other main activities. On Monday evening, we welcome our new Year 7 and their families for their induction, then on Thursday evening our lovely and highly talented Year 13 have their prom to celebrate the end of formal education and the start of their new lives beyond Sandringham. Finally, on Friday night it is the turn of Year 11 with their prom, including the traditional arrival ceremony and drinks reception for parents. It will be a wonderful week of activities and I look forward to seeing many of you at one or more of these.
Also, on Wednesday we see our trainee teachers graduate in the SandPit Theatre. This is a very special event with 35 gaining their Qualified Teacher Status before starting at work in various schools in the district. This is a reminder that if you are interested in training to teach, do get in touch with us and we can talk you through the process. There are significant bursaries for certain shortage subjects that may tempt you.
Have a great weekend and see you next week.

Students who learn German have been having a fantastic time on their eWeek in Rhineland. They have enjoyed a cruise on the River Rhine, a tour around Cochem Castle, a visit to Cochem Wave Pool, a trip to Cologne including the Lindt Chocolate Museum and a day-trip to “Phantasialand”, a leading European theme park. More on this next week but we hope they have had fun practising their German and making memories. Thanks to all of the staff involved in making the trip such a success. You can find more pictures of all of their activities @SandringhamMFL
The other half of Year 8 have also been representing Sandringham well in Ambleteuse, France. They have enjoyed a trip to Chocolate and Cheese museum, some mini golf, an Aquarium visit, snail tasting, shopping, beach fun and a final day enjoying the rides at a theme park. We are sure they have finessed their French speaking and made some great memories. You can find more pictures of all of their activities @SandringhamMFL Thank you to all of the staff involved and we look forward to including a student report of the trip next week!
Year 10 have been on their work experience placements this week and the feedback we have received from both organisations and students has been wonderful to hear. Here are some quotes:

We are so proud of all of the students for their efforts this week.
Mrs C EadyPictured above are some fabulous examples of what the D&T Faculty have been up to this week. Mrs Barrow and Mrs Hussain have been running a textiles day creating some fabulous faces and also pictured below is the beautiful work of Teeona G in Year 8, who has shown fantastic attention to detail in her Sustainable Game project.
Well done to everyone who entered previously and got the answer right! This week's puzzle is shown above. For every entry you will receive 1 house point, if you answer correctly you will win 2 housepoints and if you are the fastest person to answer the puzzle correctly then you will win 5 house points! To enter, simply scan the QR code and fill out the google form. Good luck! Why not play at home and see who is the quickest to get the answer?
Mr J HillAs mentioned previously in the Headlines, we would like to congratulate the 23 Year 12 students who successfully completed the Alban Education Sixth Formers into Teaching programme this month and say a little bit more about the process. Following the success of the programme with Language students last year, this year English, Maths, Science and Music have taken on the challenge as well. This innovative programme aims to give Year 12s and insight into the world of teaching as well as develop their confidence, communication and leadership skill. Students get the opportunity to work together with subject specialist teachers, peers and younger students. Weekly sessions equip them with the theoretical framework to be able to observe lessons meaningfully, as well as to teach their chosen subject at KS3, KS4 and at a local primary school. The primary school stage is particularly rewarding an enriching for everyone involved, and we have been overwhelmed by the incredible feedback the teachers and students alike have given our students. As part of the programme, students are required to complete a Learning Journal as they go through the different stages and we have been very impressed with their level of their reflections and their professionalism. We hope to have inspired the next generation of teachers and are looking forward to following their journeys! The programme will open to Year 12s again next year and more information will be available on Sixth Form induction days next week.
Ms C UnsainOur Visual Arts Team have been very busy during eWeek and in preparation for Arts Week next week. Miss Gidden busily prepared a canvas to leading an Arts day at Wheatfields Junior School. Mr Bloomfield led a 3D sculpting masterclass (still time to view his work currently on show at The RA!) And Mrs Kelly and our Year9 students worked hard on their projects during "Discover Arts Award in a Day!" You can follow more of our Visual Arts news @SandringhamArt and we look forward to seeing all of the students' creative efforts during Arts Week next week.
A huge thank you to the Fo$S uniform team and all those parents and carers who came and supported to uniform sale last Saturday. They raised an impressive £1,877.25! Faculties now will be able to request items that they need to help enhance students' learning and the money raised will go towards supporting this. Thanks again to all involved and please do get in touch via the admin address if you would like to help at future events.
Year 9 have enjoyed a full week of activities with a trip to Duxford on Monday, Wise Up Team Building on Tuesday and then from Wednesday onwards either heading to PGL or staying in school for classes including Master Chef, Multisports, Cake Decorating, Create a Minecraft Character, Harry Potter Experience, Chain Reaction Tricks, Discovering Arts Award, Sculpture Masterclass and much more. A huge thank you to all of the staff providing these excellent activities and we hope that students all had a great time. More reports next week!
Year 7 have had a great eWeek with Team Building exercises on Monday, Talk the Talk on Tuesday, and for the rest of the week students have either been in Northamptonshire learning Bushcraft Skills or at school enjoying various fun activities including sculpture masterclasses, multisports and a trip to Thorpe Park on Friday. More on this next week- but well done to all of the students for getting so involved -we hope they learnt some new skills and enjoyed time together as a year group.

Ms K BulbeckWe are pleased to confirm that 3 of our athletes have been selected to represent Hertfordshire at the @SchoolAthletics championships on June 30th & July 1st. Annabel H (senior girls 800m), Jasmine R (Junior girls 100m) & Luke C (Junior boys 800m).
Mr D KeenleysideLast week, our Year 9 cricket team took on Beaumont for a tense match. Beaumont batted first setting 162 for us to chase. After 10 overs, Sandringham scored 100 and it looked hopeful for us to catch them. However, after some very sophisticated bowling, we were unfortunately held to 157. Well done everyone.
Mr D KeenleysideOn Tuesday 27th June, we present our annual Summer Concert. This amazing show features songs from all choirs and instrumental clubs in the school, including the ever-growing show choir, the famous jazz band and sinfonia orchestra. You can buy tickets for this unmissable event here.
Miss A DaviesThe critically acclaimed creative team that brought you ‘Hansel & Gretel’ are back with more fun-fuelled pantomime madness; a joyful new twist on another old story, it’s not to be missed. Rapunzel saves the day (and herself!) in this action packed, magical musical pantomime adventure. Let down your hair with a cast of kooky characters as they dance and sing through this unusual, tangled tale; where people live in giant old boots and tall towers, where frog boys rap about enchanted ponds and girls with long hair battle more than split ends! Tickets cost £10-£17.50 and you can buy them here.
